For years, I felt like I wasn’t myself.

I was still training. Still eating well. Still doing “all the right things.”

But my body wasn’t responding the way it used to.

I wasn’t bouncing back from workouts.
I’d feel absolutely shattered afterwards.
My sleep was all over the place.
The brain fog was embarrassing.
I was moody, teary, anxious – and I couldn’t explain why.

Honestly? I thought it was stress. Or that I just wasn’t coping very well.

Until someone asked me:

“Have you thought that maybe you’re peri-menopausal?”

It stopped me in my tracks.

And it started a whole new chapter.

The Realisation

Once I began looking into what was actually happening hormonally, everything started to make sense.

Declining estrogen impacts muscle.
It affects recovery.
It changes how we tolerate stress.
It influences sleep, mood, energy, metabolism.

Once I understood what was happening hormonally, it became clear that menopause strength training requires a completely different approach.

Yet most women are still told to just push harder.

So I decided to properly educate myself.

I completed specialist training in menopause physiology and strength programming – not just for my clients, but for me.

And the difference was huge.
